Please read this page carefully. It explains the terms of working with Muslim Youth Coach, how your information is handled, and the safeguarding commitments that guide all coaching with young people.
Project: Muslim Youth Coach | Last updated: 19 February 2026
This combined Terms, Privacy & Safeguarding page sets out how Muslim Youth Coach operates as a coaching service for Muslim young people and their families. It covers:
• The terms and conditions for using this website and engaging in coaching.
• How your personal data is collected, stored and used.
• Our safeguarding and child-protection commitments when working with young people.
• Your responsibilities as a parent/guardian or young person engaging with coaching.
By continuing to use this website, submit any form, or book a coaching session, you are confirming that you have read, understood and agreed to the contents of this page.
2.1 Eligibility & parental responsibility
• Muslim Youth Coach provides coaching to young people and parents/guardians.
• Where the coaching client is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and remain responsible for the young person’s overall wellbeing and engagement with coaching.
• Coaching is not a substitute for medical, psychological, therapeutic or legal support. Where appropriate, you agree to seek specialist or emergency help outside of coaching.
2.2 Nature of coaching
• Coaching focuses on support, reflection, skill-building and accountability to help young people grow in a way that is aligned with Islamic values.
• No outcome is guaranteed. You accept that results depend on many factors including engagement, circumstances and readiness for change.
• Any examples of outcomes or successes are illustrative only and do not represent a promise of similar results.
2.3 Booking, rescheduling & cancellations
• Sessions must be booked via the agreed booking system or link.
• You agree to provide accurate contact details and to attend sessions on time.
• Any rescheduling or cancellations must follow the notice period and policy communicated in your specific coaching agreement or onboarding documents.
• Repeated non-attendance, late cancellations or disruptive behaviour may result in coaching being paused or terminated.
2.4 Fees & payments
• Fees, payment methods and payment schedules are set out in your specific coaching package or proposal.
• You agree to pay all fees on time and understand that sessions may not go ahead where payment has not been received.
• Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable once a programme or package has started, except where required by consumer law in your jurisdiction.
2.5 Appropriate conduct
• Muslim Youth Coach is a faith-informed space. You agree to interact with respect and uphold a standard of adab (good conduct) in all communication.
• Abusive, discriminatory, harassing or Islamophobic behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of coaching without refund.
• Any content shared with you as part of the coaching process is for your personal use only and must not be copied, redistributed or sold without written permission.
3.1 What information we collect
Depending on how you interact with Muslim Youth Coach, we may collect:
• Contact details (such as name, email address, phone number).
• Parent/guardian details where relevant.
• Basic demographic information and background relevant to coaching (e.g. age range, school year, goals).
• Notes from coaching sessions to support continuity and safeguarding.
• Technical data from your use of this website (e.g. IP address, device type, browser) via analytics tools or cookies.
3.2 How and why we use your information
We use your data to:
• Provide and improve coaching services and programmes.
• Communicate with you about bookings, changes or relevant resources.
• Maintain a safeguarding record where required to protect a young person.
• Keep basic financial and administrative records for legal and tax purposes.
• Understand how the website is used so we can improve content and user experience.
3.3 Legal bases for processing (where applicable)
Where data protection laws such as the UK GDPR apply, we may process your data on the basis of:
• Your consent (for example, when you submit a form or opt into updates).
• Performance of a contract (for example, delivering a coaching package you have purchased).
• Compliance with a legal obligation (for example, safeguarding or financial record keeping).
• Legitimate interests (for example, improving services or preventing misuse of the website), balanced against your privacy rights.
3.4 How we store and protect your data
• Information is stored using reputable digital tools and platforms which may be based in the UK, EU or other countries depending on the service provider.
• Reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, loss or misuse of your data.
• Data is kept only for as long as necessary for coaching, safeguarding, legal or tax purposes, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised wherever reasonable.
3.5 Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information:
• With service providers (such as scheduling tools, email providers or payment processors) who help us deliver coaching and run the business.
• With safeguarding partners or authorities where there is a legal or ethical duty to protect a young person or others from serious harm.
• Where required by law, court order or regulatory requirement.
3.6 Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the laws that apply, you may have rights such as:
• Accessing the personal data we hold about you.
• Requesting correction of inaccurate information.
• Requesting deletion of some data, subject to legal or safeguarding requirements.
• Objecting to certain types of processing or withdrawing consent where consent is the legal basis.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
4.1 Our safeguarding stance
Muslim Youth Coach is committed to creating a safe, Islamically-aligned environment for young people. Safeguarding the welfare and dignity of children and vulnerable people is a core priority in every interaction, online and offline.
4.2 Confidentiality and its limits
Coaching conversations are treated as private and sensitive. However, confidentiality has important limits where safeguarding is concerned. Information may need to be shared with a parent/guardian, school, healthcare professional or relevant authority if there is a concern that:
• A young person is at risk of significant harm.
• Another person may be at risk of harm.
• A young person may be at risk of serious self-harm or suicidal behaviour.
• There is a legal obligation to disclose specific information.
4.3 Working with parents and guardians
Where a young person is under 18:
• A parent or legal guardian must provide consent for coaching to begin.
• Parents/guardians are encouraged to be part of the overall support system, whilst respecting the young person’s need for a level of privacy and trust in sessions.
• General progress or themes may be shared with parents/guardians, but specific details from sessions are usually kept private unless the young person agrees or there is a safeguarding concern.
4.4 Online safety & recordings
• Online sessions should take place in a private but appropriate space where the young person feels safe and is not distracted.
• Sessions will not be recorded unless explicitly agreed in writing by all relevant parties, including the parent/guardian where needed.
• Any approved recordings are treated as highly sensitive and will be stored securely and for a limited time only.
4.5 Emergencies and crisis situations
Coaching is not an emergency or crisis service. If a young person is in immediate danger, is at high risk of self-harm, or you are seriously concerned for someone’s safety, you should contact the emergency services in your country, a local crisis helpline, GP/doctor or trusted authority immediately. Coaching can continue alongside, but not replace, such urgent support.
5.1 Honest communication
To make coaching effective and safe, you agree to share information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and to communicate any major changes in circumstances that may affect coaching or safeguarding.
5.2 Respectful engagement
You agree not to use this website or any coaching space to:
• Spread hate, discrimination or content contrary to Islamic ethics and basic human respect.
• Harass, threaten, abuse or harm any person.
• Distribute viruses, spam or malicious software.
• Interfere with or disrupt the functioning of the website or related systems.
5.3 Use of materials and intellectual property
Any resources, worksheets, frameworks or content shared with you by Muslim Youth Coach are for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to copy, modify, share, resell or publicly distribute these materials without explicit written permission.
5.4 Technical and website use
While we aim to keep the website and digital platforms available and secure, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or freedom from technical issues. You are responsible for using appropriate antivirus and security measures on your own devices and for keeping any login details private where applicable.
